Shining Star: Guillermo Casique
October’s Shining Star is Guillermo Casique, Orion’s Regional Media Investment Coordinator. Here, Guillermo shares the four languages that he speaks fluently — and the one place he’d love to visit more than anywhere else.
So, where are you from?
I was born and raised in Caracas — the capital and largest city of Venezuela. However, I’ve been living in the U.S. for the last five years
Tell us about your last job.
My previous job was at a telecommunications firm that builds antennas across the U.S., Latin America and South Africa. I was an Asset Optimization Analyst for Brazil. But I was a finance intern at Orion in Miami during my senior year in college. I graduated from Stetson University with a major in finance.
What’s something interesting about you that we might not know?
I am fluent in four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, of which I use the first three working with Orion LATAM’s markets on a daily basis.
What are your hobbies?
I love traveling, reading, watching movies, and listening to music in different languages to expand my cultural reach and acumen.
What’s your favorite movie?
The Intouchables. It’s a French movie about Phillippe, a Parisian millionaire who’s quadriplegic and angry at life — until he meets Driss, his chauffer who’d later become his best friend and showed him a brighter side of life.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would definitely go to Australia. This country is enormous and incredibly diverse, offering pristine beaches, modern cities and a unique species.
