Orion Shining Star: Matt Sauli
We name a Shining Star as a way to get to know each other better. This month, Matt Sauli, Director, Operations, shares a bit about his background.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Astoria but moved out to Carle Place, Long Island, a few years ago.
Where did you last work? What was your position and what did you do?
I started at Orion out of college, in 2011, and stayed until 2016. I left for an operations role at a different company. I wasn’t gone long, though — by March 2017, I was back at Orion!
Where did you graduate college/university?
I graduated from Marist College in 2011 with a major in Business Admin/Marketing.
What are your hobbies?
I play ice hockey as much as I can. But, most of my hobbies now revolve around my 1-year-old, Dominick, and will soon include my daughter, Giuliana, who is due on June 5th.
What’s your favorite movie?
There are two movies that are my favorites to the point where I could finish watching and would have no problem starting them right back over again: Goodfellas and Miracle.
What’s your favorite sports team?
I’m a big fan of the Yankees and Giants, but my number one team is the New York Rangers. I try to get to as many games as possible every year.
