My Best Self: Emily Watson

My Best Self: Emily Watson
Senior Associate, Digital EMEA

How do you define striving to be your “Best Self?”
To be your “Best Self” it’s important to be your authentic self, live your truth and be comfortable in who you are. It’s also important to think positively and stay motivated. I find I’m always looking for different ways to approach life and tasks to keep things interesting and it means you also learn more about yourself in the process.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small village in the countryside called Chipping Ongar, home to the oldest wooden building in Europe (a mid-9th century church) and also once won an award for “Silliest Town Name.” Living in the countryside meant I spent a lot of my childhood climbing trees and riding bikes, preparing me for my adult life living in the city of London…!

What are your hobbies?
I love live music and have gone to many gigs, concerts and festivals, ranging from 50-people venues to 90,000! I also previously worked as an “Artist Liason” at festivals and assisted artists performing across the weekend. My “most watched” artist is The 1975 who I’ve seen live 7 times since 2015.

What skill are you currently learning (or would love to learn)?
I’m currently learning Spanish. After studying it at school and going on holiday to the city of Palma last year I realised I have a really good foundation to grow my knowledge and learn an amazing and very useful language. This will also hopefully help me in my new EMEA role and working with the Spanish speaking markets.

What does your perfect day look like?
My perfect day would be a sunny summers day by the seaside in Brighton, in the south of England. I lived in the city for three years and it is one of my favorite places in the UK. I’d have beer in one hand and an ice cream in the other, after spending all day browsing the vintage clothing and homeware shops.
