LiftOff: Monica Tran on Attending Malaysian Media Awards (MMA)
Hi Orion friends back at home,
I had the pleasure of attending the (MMA) on Friday night and wow, what a treat. I witnessed firsthand how strong IPG is in this market – UM, Initiative and BPN won 12 Gold awards out of 14 categories, 28 total awards throughout the night, and UM was awarded Agency of the Year for the 7th time.
It was an incredibly fun night rooting for all of the agency teams who clearly put a lot of work and effort into their submissions for this prestigious event. After UM was announced Agency of the Year, all of Mediabrands (it’s such a great culture here, everyone is truly and deservingly a winner!) rushed onstage to accept the award amid loud celebratory music and confetti flying from the ceiling. As we’re headed to the stage, Bala Pomaleh (IPG Mediabrands Malaysia) put his hand on my shoulder and happily exclaimed, “Welcome to IPG Malaysia, Monica!” To that, I could only humbly reply, “FOR REAL BALA, THANK YOU!”
Coming out of MMA, I’m more excited than ever to grow Orion’s presence in this successful market.
