Now that you know what you know, what would you do differently? The panel responded:

1. Worry less
2. Volunteer more – raise your hand don’t wait for opportunities to come to you
3. Network more – use your network. Don’t be so inwardly focused in your company. Create a network before you need it and they will be there for you when you do need it.

The final piece of sage advice came from Bozoma Saint John, Chief Brand Officer, Uber.

Make sure you are getting ready for what you’ve been told, or what you think, you can’t get. Don’t stay, don’t be stagnant, always make sure you exemplify what it means to get ready. What are YOU getting ready to do?

This was big. When asked how she starts her day, Bozoma said she doesn’t look at her phone for the first hour of the day. She mentally prepares herself for what she needs to do. “I am in service to ME and those emails first thing in the morning are definitely not in service to me so take the time to GET a READY and prepare yourself for what you want accomplish for the day before you engage.”

Thanks to LeAndra Cleveland for capturing the end of the keynote. “There’s never a moment where we should feel comfortable or staid or stagnant.”
