LiftOff: Rachel Popielarz’s Experience in Boston
Rachel Popielarz has just moved to Orion Boston for a six-month stint as part of LiftOff, our employee mobility program.
Why did you pursue the LiftOff opportunity in Boston?
I never had an opportunity with my job to participate in anything like the LiftOff program. And I will say, the number one reason that pushed me to accept the opportunity was because it was so far outside of my comfort zone and I wanted to see if I could do it.
What are you hoping to get from your experience?
At this point, I am only two weeks in and I will say my initial expectations were to develop a routine. However, moving forward is all about all about building relationships and meeting new people at the Boston agencies, learning what they do and introducing them to what Orion does. So it’s evolving and am hoping to have a better answer for you in the coming months!
Have there been any benefits from this opportunity that surprised you?
I wouldn’t say I was surprised by it, but one of things I have really enjoyed the most about the LiftOff program, particularly, was the preparation for it. Before moving, I was able to meet and interact with people across Orion and they have went out of their way to introduce me to Orion’s offerings, points of contact and just making sure I was fully prepared for the opportunity, which was really fantastic.
